You can retrieve your Google Apps messages with a client or device that supports IMAP, like Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail. First you need to enable IMAP for your account prior to configuration of your email client. To do this:


Visit http://apps.channelplay.in & enable IMAP in your Google Apps settings

  1. Sign in to Google Apps Account.
  2. Click the gear in the top right.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  5. Select Enable IMAP.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Once you've enabled IMAP in your Google Apps settings, you need to configure your client. Select a client below to see specific configuration instructions.


Android 


·  Open the Email application.

  • Tap Menuand the Settings
  • In the top corner, tap select Next to get started with setup.
  • Enter your full Google Apps address (e.g. someone@channelplay.in) and password, then select Next.
  • On the next screen, you can give the account a nickname and choose the name to display on your outgoing messages. Tap Done.

And you're done. You can verify your settings from the Inbox view by tapping , select Account and then scroll to Server settings.

Incoming settings

Outgoing settings
SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465

BlackBerry


To set up the BlackBerry's email client with Google Apps (IMAP), just follow these steps:

  1. On your BlackBerry device, navigate to your home screen
  2. Select the icon that lets you set up email (this can be called Setup, Setup Wizard, Email Setup, BlackBerry Set-up, E-mail settings, or Personal Email Set-up)

4. Please make sure you've selected to leave a copy of messages on the server.

5. If your client does not support SMTP authentication, you won't be able to send mail through your client using your Gmail address.

6. If you're having trouble sending mail but you've confirmed that encryption is active for SMTP in your mail client, try to configure your SMTP server on a different port (465 or 587).

If setup is successful, you should receive a confirmation message and a new mailbox icon should appear on your device's home screen, labeled with your Gmail address.


iPhone, iPad or iPod touch


To configure the 'Mail' app on an Apple device for access to Google Apps, just follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you've enabled in your main Gmail settings
  2. Open the Settings app on your device
  3. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  4. Tap Add Account...
  5. Tap Gmail
  6. Enter your account information, being sure to use your full Gmail address (e.g someone@channelplay.in and your email password)
  7. Tap Next
  8. Tap Save

And you're done. You can add additional Gmail accounts by repeating the same steps above.

Outlook /Windows Mail

If you see a prompt to add an account when you open Apple Mail, skip to step 5:

  1. Open the Mail app on your computer.
  2. Select the Mail menu at the top, and then Preferences.
  3. Open the Accounts section.
  4. Click the + button in the bottom corner.
  5. Choose Google.
  6. Type your name.
  7. Type your full email address (e.g. username@channelplay.in).
  8. Type your password. If you use 2-step verification with your account, you'll have to enter an app password.
  9. Click Set up.
  10. Make sure Mail is selected and click Done.

Open Thunderbird, enter your account information and click Continue.

  • Password: your Gmail password. If you have 2-Step Verification on your account, enter an app password into this field instead.

Thunderbird will do all of the setup for you, but confirm your settings with the information below.
